Christopher Lovell is a British artist and illustrator with a taste for the darker side of things.
Lovell is best known for his ongoing “Dark Nature” series of intricately detailed, haunting fantasy pieces and his numerous contributions to cult horror movie franchises. Utilising a variety of artist mediums, such as pencils, acrylic, markers and spray paint, Lovell‘s art has been adapted to numerous forms of media, from album covers, band merch, DVD covers, tattoos and a huge variety of apparel.
As a child of the 80s, Lovell cites the endless inspiration of the cartoons, toys and video games of the era as a huge influence in his desire to create and pursue art as a career. “I would crave for and seek out new forms of inspiration constantly. Toys led me to model kits and Gameworkshop, cartoons led me to Anime and my hobbies and interests just snowballed. I have a huge fondness for nostalgia and my studio is a man cave filled with everything that has shaped my imagination over the years. It looks crazy and excessive when you enter, but thats the only way it can be!”
Lovell is spending the majority of the 2017 on select client projects while focussing on his personal work with intention to release an art book later in the year. Lovell is also sharing all his art secrets on his Youtube channel with big plans of numerous future videos.
