Tyler Hays is a 21-year-old self-taught artist who is quickly making a name for himself in the fine art illustration scene. Tyler specializes in extremely intricate, labyrinth-like, pen and ink drawings with a heavy focus in sacred geometry, nature and the cosmos.
Tyler was born in the Chicago suburbs on August 2nd, 1995 and began drawing as soon as he learned to hold a pencil. Incessantly scribbling on anything he could get his hands on he quickly developed a masterful skill in drawing. With his Grandmother, Father and Uncle all having a prevalent art background, Tyler simply had art in his genes. Throughout his school years he drew on everything admittedly aggravating his teachers. He eventually discovered skateboarding and quickly fell in love with it. Another form of freedom and self-expression skateboarding and its raw, uncensored community has undoubtedly had a heavy influence on him. Tyler took art classes throughout high school but hated them so much they nearly made him quit drawing altogether. The sense of boundaries from the teachers put him off, but he quickly came to grips and continued at his craft.
In the summer of 2015, Tyler quit his day job at a grocery store, and has been commissioned for numerous companies, brands, labels and bands. He now resides on the coast of North Carolina where he continues to pursue his passion of being a Freelance Illustrator.
