I’ve uncovered a fascinating series of audio links this week that shine the light of science on metaphysical experiences and aim to help us break free from the superstition, fear and paranoia that usually surrounds these topics. I recommend listening to these in order for maximum impact. Enjoy!
“You have an amazing ability. Your thoughts and feelings, your memories and experiences, are reproduced in the events around you as coincidences. It’s not only you with this ability, it’s everyone. We all live in a reality in which our thoughts and emotions are mirrored back to us as synchronistic events. This is not some world of science fiction or fantasy; it’s the real world around you, at this very moment. This seemingly magical ability goes largely unnoticed, unexplained, and misunderstood. This ability is real. It’s not magic, but is the core of most myths about magic. Synchronicity is about getting orientated to powers you already use. If you would rather not spend time staring into the funhouse mirror of your own mind, you might want to turn your attention elsewhere. If, however, you would like to take the chance of embarking on an adventure of exploration through synchronicity, and don’t mind that certainty is nowhere to be found, stay tuned…”
This is a great introduction to Dr. Surprise’s book (Yes, that’s his real name) check this podcast out before diving deeper into his book listed below.
I’m really thrilled to have recently discovered this audiobook. I’ve found it to be therapeutic and enlightening. I’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since I downloaded it last week in an attempt to fully digest it properly, but I am completely fascinated by the ideas and scientific research presented in it. When the realms of science, philosophe, physics and mysticism merge, the big picture begins to reveal itself, giving human beings clearer insights into the nature of our universe. The main point I grasp from the book is that the reality we experience around us is not fixed, but is a constantly shifting reflection of our own beliefs, thoughts and emotions. If this is true, then it puts us in the driver’s seat to change the world by mastering our own minds. I like it because this way of thinking has the power make life feel a lot less ominous and serious, encouraging us to experiment, explore, play and enjoy our existence with a lot less fear and paranoia.
Soon after discovering the links listed above, I followed the crumb trail to this interview with Michael Talbot. This is a highly entertaining podcast to listen to, especially after you are familiar with how synchronicity events work. Definitely one of the most sober conversations I’ve ever heard relating to such fringe as: synchronicities, psychic experiences, UFOs, poltergeists, spiritual experiences and states of higher consciousness.
I’m listening to this audio track right now to help focus my thoughts while I write. I use it every morning when writing emails, planning my schedule and thinking strategically to solve problems. I need all the help I can get when it comes to focusing, so being able to switch between various brainwave states for focus and creativity using tools like this has been a huge benefit for me. Check out some of the research on binaural beats to learn more about how they work.
Hope you find these links interesting and I’ll leave you with a quote from Aleister Crowley that poetically points to this idea.
